Working Together
For Nature
About
Somaliland is home to unique wildlife, diverse ecosystems, and remarkable landscapes. We work with communities, researchers, and partners to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable environmental stewardship.
Our Mission
To conserve Somaliland's biodiversity and natural resources while empowering communities to build a sustainable future through environmental stewardship and conservation action.
Our Vision
A Somaliland where nature thrives, wildlife is protected, and communities benefit from healthy ecosystems for generations to come.
What we do
Our work is centered on protecting biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, educating communities, and promoting sustainable environmental stewardship.
🌱 Ecosystem Restoration
Restoring degraded landscapes, planting native vegetation, and promoting sustainable land management to strengthen environmental resilience.
🌿 Biodiversity Conservation
Protecting Somaliland’s wildlife and natural habitats through conservation initiatives that preserve biodiversity and support healthy ecosystems.
📚 Environmental Education
Raising awareness and inspiring action through educational programs, workshops, and community outreach that foster a culture of conservation.
🤝 Community Engagement
Working alongside local communities, organizations, and stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions that benefit both people and nature.
Our Development Projects
We aim to restore degraded landscapes by planting native trees and promoting community-led reforestation programs. Our goal is to increase forest cover, improve biodiversity, and combat the effects of deforestation across Somaliland.
Many families rely on charcoal production as a source of income, resulting in widespread tree cutting. We work to promote sustainable livelihood opportunities and environmentally friendly alternatives that reduce dependence on charcoal while supporting local economic development.
Seasonal rainfall is a valuable resource that often goes unused. We plan to develop water harvesting systems, reservoirs, and small dams to capture and store rainwater, helping communities secure water supplies during periods of drought.
Long-term conservation requires community participation. We conduct awareness campaigns, training programs, and environmental education initiatives that encourage sustainable land management, tree planting, and responsible use of natural resources.
